ClearMargin procedures

ClearMargin simplifies your work at every stage of a new show or exhibition.

Getting ready for the new exhibit

1. Generate letters or email messages for your clients, announcing the show.

   ClearMargin maintains a database of all of your clients, including telephone numbers and email addresses. Powerful searching criteria are also available.

   The data is stored in a Microsoft Access database, so your data remains accessible to you, even outside of ClearMargin.

2. Add items to your inventory, either as stock or on consignment.

   ClearMargin allows you to handle items both bought into stock, and those on consignment. Stock items are immediately entered into the stock book, while consignment items are only assigned a stock number as they are sold.

   If you work on a standard markup, you the program can even work out the price to the supplier as a percentage.

3. Generate labels for the items.

   As you enter stock and consignment items, they are assigned a permanent stock code. You can then generate labels for each item, that includes a description, and the stock number. To sell an item, just enter it's stock code on the sales invoice.

4. Issue invoices for goods purchased.

   After you have entered all of the items, a simple button press allows you to generate an invoice for purchase.

5. Issue goods in receipts for items on consignment.

   If you have goods on consignment or commission, a report showing the agreed prices, and detailing the items is a single button press away.

During the exhibit

1. Generate client invoices for items sold.

   To make a sale, enter a portion of the clients name, press ENTER and ClearMargin will show a list of clients matching, and complete the address for you.

   To sell an item, simply enter its stock code, and all of the details are automatically entered on the invoice.

   Invoices are customizable, so they can match the image of your business.

2. New clients are added to the client database.

   When the sale is complete, new clients are automatically entered into your client database, and details are updated for existing clients.

3. Sold items are automatically accounted for.

   As items are sold, the stock book is automatically filled in, and items on consignment are marked as sold.

4. Keep track of payment details

   ClearMargin even allows you to keep track of partial payments by customers for each invoice. This makes it easy to reconcile payments to your bank statements.

After the exhibit

1. View amounts outstanding from clients.
2. Generate goods returned reports for consignment items returned.
3. Generate statements for items sold on consignment.
4. Generate reports showing amounts owed
