As a result of installing our program Quality Time, it has come to our attention that there is a general problem with these programs on Windows® 98 systems.
FreeCell and Solitaire in versions before Windows® ME had this problem, as documented by the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

In summary, there is not enough always enough stack space for the program to run when other programs hook into the operating system.
This program increases the stack size on the 16 bit program named on the command line to 4000h bytes or the size specified. Known programs with problems are SOL.EXE and FREECELL.EXE.
